The Day of the Triffids
Catch a Killer
The story is about a young man named Andrew, who is ran away from his home. The reason is because his single mother did not allow him to go to a restaurant which she thinks it is not a good place to hang out. Andrew then got mad and he told his mother such hurtful words ending up being slapped across the face. Because of this, he ran away. He is mature for his age but he use it in a bad way. He ran away from their home to test how much his mother loves him.
In my opinion, this is a very good book. The author detailed the events perfectly including his description of the characters. I can imagine the story clearly. The only thing that i didn't like is the font of the book. It is too big. i think he made it like that to make the book thicker. I think he shouldn't have done that. It's because it makes the novel look like it was written for kids. The story, however, is very well done. It is very realistic but it still looks like a fiction. I can compare the book to the real life based on the events.
I think i can see myself finishing this book because it is very interesting. I also would like to know what will happen to Andrew next. I am imagining that Alex will go somewhere he doesn't know about and he will experience the most extraordinary thing in his life.
The Wild Children
The Chrysalids
The book is about a guy named David living in a community called Waknuk where any abnormalities are considered ungodly. They burn farmlands if there is something wrong with it. David met a girl named Sophie who has 6 toes on one of her foot. She was scared that if David found out he would turn her in. The community will act terribly unkind to her because of her "abnormality". After he found out about her abnormality, he promised not to tell anyone about it. Unlike his house, Sophie's house is quite small but look very friendly.
In my opinion, the book is quite interesting. The first chapter interested me because of the events and how the community is introduced to the readers. Unlike the second chapter, it just introduced David's family and his home. It introduced his father and his grandfather marrying a girl who is 25 years younger than him. So far, The storyline is very catchy and quite unique. This is a good novel for fiction readers. It's because this book is way different than the reality. The community, and their religious views made the story interesting and unique.
